Black and Gold Invades the Great White North

Tonight is the first MLS regular season meeting between the Vancouver Whitecaps FC (3-2-1) and LAFC (2-2-0). The teams met during a closed door preseason 4-4 draw at UCLA.

LAFC has relied on its talented Designated Players to be productive on the pitch. In the first three games of the regular season, DPs Carlos Vela (3G, 2A) and Diego Rossi (3G, 4A) registered a goal and/or assist.

The black and gold are facing a tough opponent in Vancouver. The ’Caps are riding a club MLS record 11-match home undefeated streak and are currently in second place in the Western Division with 10 points on a 3-2-1 record.

LAFC defender Jordan Harvey makes his return to Vancouver, where he spent seven seasons. Harvey is the Whitecap’s all-time leader in MLS regular season appearances, starts, and minutes played. Joao Moutinho, LAFC rookie defender, is suspended following his red card in the 92’ of the match against Atlanta.

The teams will meet again on Sunday, October 21 at Banc of California Stadium.

How to watch and listen:

The match will be LAFC’s first local broadcast on YouTube TV in English and UniMás KFTR 46 in Spanish. The road match will also be broadcast over radio on ESPN 710 and KFWB 980. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
